How it works
Missouri has a work-sharing agreement with the EEOC. A charge filed with Missouri Commission on Human Rights is generally also considered filed with the EEOC ("dual-filed"), and vice versa. You usually only need to file once.
Key notes
Missouri's state law does not explicitly protect sexual orientation or gender identity — workers rely on federal Bostock protections. The 180-day MCHR deadline is shorter than the federal window; file simultaneously with the EEOC to preserve the full 300-day period. Kansas City and St. Louis have local ordinances that may provide additional protections.
