How it works
Louisiana has a work-sharing agreement with the EEOC. A charge filed with Louisiana Commission on Human Rights is generally also considered filed with the EEOC ("dual-filed"), and vice versa. You usually only need to file once.
Key notes
Louisiana's 20-employee threshold is notably higher than federal law for most discrimination claims, meaning small employers (15–19 employees) that would be covered federally under Title VII are not covered under Louisiana state law. Louisiana does not explicitly protect sexual orientation or gender identity at the state level.
